Timeline for Fall Housing

*Off-Campus Housing: offcampus.appstate.edu

October and November

Students explore their on and off-campus housing options for next fall.  Students can register to attend the free 60-minutes "Find Your Match" program sponsored by University Housing, Off-Campus Student Services, and the Legal Clinic in order to learn how to look for on and off-campus housing.

Students discuss fall housing options with their families over the winter break. Students are also sent reapplication emails for on-campus housing.

On-Campus Housing

Students start the on-campus housing process by filling out the on-line housing application. Students who wish to live on campus during the following academic year should reapply for housing through University Housing in January. On-campus housing is not guaranteed.

Off-Campus Housing

Because on-campus housing is not guaranteed for students (except freshmen), students should look for off-campus housing in the event that they do not receive an on-campus housing assignment. Local rental companies begin signing contracts for fall rentals in January.

February (first week of February, date TBA)

On-Campus Housing

Students will be selected to live on campus- they need to watch for this notification to come to their ASU email account.

Off-Campus Housing

A Housing Fair is organized by the Student Government Association and the Office of Off-Campus Student Services. Local rental companies will be available in the Student Union, International Hallway, to provide information about their apartments.

On-Campus Housing

University Housing will still be notifying students if they receive on campus housing.

Off-Campus Housing

Students who want to look off-campus, or who do not receive on-campus housing should sign off-campus rental contracts in order to insure that they receive all of their preferences (including cost, location, roommates, amenities, etc.). Students who do NOT sign rental contracts before April will still find off-campus housing, but may not receive all of their preferences such as cost, location, number of roommates, etc.

The Off-Campus Student Services Office is a partner program of the Student Legal Clinic.

Off Campus Housing and Roommate Search

The University provides a searchable database of available rental properties, which includes listings by rental companies and posts by students who are looking to sublet or need a roommate.  Click here to visit the Off-Campus Housing Database.
