About the Off-Campus Housing Information Exchange

The Information Exchange uses a 5-point scale:

• 5 = Very Satisfied
• 4 = Satisfied
• 3 = Neutral
• 2 = Dissatisfied
• 1 = Very Dissatisfied

• The “Overall Satisfaction” score listed for each company or complex is based on the average response to the survey question asking students to rate their overall satisfaction with the rental unit. It is not an average of the responses to the other survey questions for that rental company.
• We made a decision to include all rental companies that were identified in our survey, even those with only one or two student reviews. The number of reviews for each company is shown on the page for that company. We will be updating the Information Exchange quarterly with additional information obtained from students about off-campus rentals in Boone.
• As we receive additional student input, we will be able to provide more meaningful information about specific rental properties. TAKE THE SURVEY if you are currently living off campus!
• Only Appalachian State University students are able to submit reviews on the Information Exchange.
• The goal of the Information Exchange is to assist students in finding housing that meets their needs and is a good fit for them.
